Narrow-leafed Wattle Project - Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP)

Narrow-leafed wattle is extremely rare in Victoria. In 2014, Parks Victoria Ranger Kelton Goyne discovered six trees in the Mount Lawson State Park. The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) conducted surveys, that showed 34 more trees scattered across private properties that neighboured the State Park.

DELWP funded the collection and propagation of the wattle seed, which Park Lane Nursery oversaw as part of the DELWP’s Biodiversity On-Ground Action initiative.

Because of this project, we planted more than 350 seedlings near Burrowye, 100kms east of Wodonga. Park Lane Nursery are extremely proud to be part of this project.
